Nothing seems off limits or sacred in today’s society. Most say and do whatever they want without regard to protocol or repercussions. The Barna Trends 2017 report provides shocking insight into the trends in culture today. For instance, “many American adults admit they are uncertain about how to determine right from wrong, often opting to look within themselves rather than to any external, more traditional sources of authority.” Barna dubs this new moral code “The Morality of Self-Fulfillment.” It seems that America is mimicking Judges 21:25 that states, “In those days there was no king in Israel; and everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”
As New Godmothers while we definitely have our work cut out for us, we can rest assured that God will save our children. Jeremiah 31: 16,17 GNB states, “Stop your crying and wipe away your tears. All that you have done for your children will not go unrewarded. They will return from the enemy’s land. There is hope for your future. Your children will come back home. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
God can change any situation. He can cause one to come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil. 2 Timothy 2:25-26 in The Message Bible says, “… You never know how or when God might sober them up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, enabling them to escape the Devil’s trap, where they are caught and held captive, forced to run his errands.”
So, today I’m happy to report that the future is as bright as the promises of God. He is in control. We are simply standing in the gap, warring for those who need us. God promises, “Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” (Jeremiah 24:7).
Let’s keep on believing, keep on speaking the word over those we love and are spiritually entrusted with. Always remember, “But the LORD says, The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children.” (Isaiah 49:25 NLT). Stand strong and confident in your prayers. “Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.” (II Chronicles 20:15b NASB). God has it all in control!!
